Astrid delivered egg #2 at 12:54 this morning April 4th! She sat for a moment after the egg emerged and then turned and tucked both eggs under her as she snuggled down to rest.
Ares being the devoted mate brought Astrid food tributes and has mated with her three times already this morning!

A big thank you goes out to everyone who participated. After careful consideration of over 400(!) name submissions, the committee chose the following names:
Some names were submitted more than once, but, as always, the winner, if the name is chosen, is the first person to submit the name.
Winners will be awarded their t-shirts on Saturday, June 17th during fledge watch. We will contact winners individually with additional information.
Astrid wasn’t “fooling” around when she arrived at the box this evening. She came back to the box just after 6pm and by 6:50 had laid the first egg of the 2017 nesting season. What an active day! (see earlier post). She is now enjoying some much deserved rest!
