Astrid and Ares have been sharing dances more frequently. We are just about 10 weeks away from the start of egg laying!! We have not yet witnessed any actual matings but Astrid has shown some of her typical bowing behavior signaling her willingness to mate.

DECEMBER DANCE!!!
Although Astrid and Ares have been seen daily in the canyon they have been fairly quiet. Typically the only action we spot is one or both of them eating a pigeon on the hotel.
But today they surprised us when Astrid flew to the nest box and Ares joined her a few minutes later!. They share a dance – or ledge display – with some bowing and talking. Hopefully they will start to become more animated and we will have time to share videos with you.
We wish everyone a healthy holiday season!
Dancing on Labor Day!!
Astrid and Ares have shared 3 dances this morning. They love holidays as much as we do!!
EVENING DANCE
Astrid and Ares shared a lively dance this evening. It was nice to see they were acting normally after all the smoke in the air today.
Watchers – Join us for our annual End of the Season Gathering
We will have our 2020 end of season gathering on October 10th at 6PM.
Due to social distancing guidelines we have made some changes to our annual gathering. Masks will be required. Hand sanitizer will be available.
We will be meeting in the auditorium of the downtown campus for Utica College. Everyone needs to enter through the back of the building. Please use the parking lot behind Adirondack bank building – someone will be at the gate to let you in. We will have volunteers stationed at entry points to guide you.
We cannot have our typical potluck dinner. Please bring your own dinner and drinks. There are tables and chairs for your use.
We will have a short trivia session prior to Matt’s presentation.
A new shirt has been designed for 2020 and will be available at the gathering.
