As expected Astrid was on the eggs throughout the night. Ares screeched to the box at 5:15, but Astrid sent him away. They switched at 6 AM and Ares had his first turn on the eggs. Astrid pulled a meal from Ares’ store and took it over to the hotel. She wasn’t feeding there for long. They did a super-fast switch at 8:06 and then Astrid was back on the eggs. We didn’t locate Ares again until close to 11 AM when he was on the State Building. At 11:23 he brought a chunk of prey to the crossperch. She hopped off the eggs to take it from him and he hopped into the box to give it to her. She accepted it and flew over to the hotel to eat it. The next switch happened at 1:12 PM. It was another quicky – and Astrid took over incubating.
Ares came to the box at 3:22 and the pair switched again. Astrid was on the State Building for a while and then she was back to the hotel with food. He made squeaking calls when she returned to her State Building perch. The next and last switch of the day took place at 5:52 PM. It was another fast one. Astrid hunkered down on the eggs. Ares was on the State Building for a short time and then he was out of camera view. Goodnight falcons and falcon friends.
